One of the most common mistakes in the elevator industry is focusing solely on price when choosing ventilation. Facts you should know about the widely used 'Square Fans' on the market:
Square fans (Axial) rotate the air but may not create as powerful fresh air pressure inside the cabin as radial fans do.
Instead of exhausting the stale air inside the car, it may sometimes only circulate the existing air inside. It can be insufficient when the number of passengers increases, leading to a lack of fresh air.
Simple cooling fans not suitable for industrial use may fail more quickly in continuously active areas like elevators.
According to TS EN 81-20 standard Article 5.4.9, effective ventilation openings must be provided in both upper and lower sections of elevator cabins. The provision of fresh air circulation in the cabin guarantees not only passenger comfort, but also the maintenance of the oxygen level in the cabin in case of emergency (if the elevator stays between floors, etc.).
